Gustav Klimt
Retracing the footsteps of Gustav Klimt

The famous Viennese Art Nouveau painter spent many summers in the region around Lake Attersee. Most of his fifty renowned landscape paintings originated here. Numerous places along the Gustav Klimt Trail inform you about his stays and lead you around Lake Attersee, especially along the northern and southern shores in the area around Klimt’s summer homes in Litzlberg, Kammer, Weissenbach. These places along the promenade from Seewalchen, provide you with information regarding Klimt’s life and work. They are thus ideal starting points for a hike retracing this famous painter’s footsteps.

Extreme caution is advised when travelling with children! After approx. 20 min. ascent, you will arrive at an impressive waterfall.
