Once upon a time, a mermaid named Adhara lived
in Lake Attersee. She brought the inhabitants gold
and jewels, but soon envy and greed befell the
inhabitants. Thus, Adhara retreated from Lake Attersee.
However, she left behind the magnificent glitter and
sparkle of the lake. Since then, she has hidden herself
away behind the Fallendwasser (waterfall),
also known as Nixenfall (Mermaid Falls).
